Studies done over a 24 hour period show that those who chant actually lower their heart rate and lower their blood pressure while chanting.

Those who practice chanting can lower their levels of theta waves and even delta brain waves and they have a lower amount of stress throughout the day. But it was not only those doing the chanting, even those who listen to chanting had lower stress.

Chanting helps to stimulate the body chakras. These energy centers help regulate the functions of different body organs. At times, the alignment of the chakras can be off balance and chanting helps to align them, keeping your body disease free.

In 2011, a study showed that when people chant they had an increase in cellular telomerase activity. This slows down the aging process.
